Oscar for “Free Solo”, directed by photographer Jimmy Chin

The winner of the 91st Academy Awards for “Best Documentary” is the extraordinary National Geographic film “Free Solo“. Directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, photographer and climber. The movie tells the story of Alex Honnold and his solo attempt in 2017 to climb “El Capitan”, a 2307m rock formation in Yosemite National Park (California), without a rope.

A challenge to the limit of human possibilities, in search of perfection. An exciting and inspiring journey into the mind of one of the greatest climbers of our time!
