Day 1, Lima
Lima, also called the “City of Kings”, is famous for its Spanish colonial architecture, museums, and extraordinary gastronomy. Our day starts with a photographic itinerary through the bohemian neighborhood of Barranco, its artistic heart, focusing on street photography and portraiture of people in the urban context.
Day 2, Lima (D)
We will discover the architectural treasures of Lima, starting with a morning walk to the “Plaza de Armas”, framed by its beautiful Cathedral, the archiepiscopal palaces, the “Convent of San Francisco” and its famous catacombs.
Day 3, Lima (D)
Visit inside the archaeological site of “Huaca Pucclana”, located in the district of Miraflores, one of the symbols of the Peruvian culture. Near sunset we will reach the “Morro Solar”, a high point which offers a unique view over the whole city and the coast.
Day 4, Lima – Cusco, Sacred Valley (D,A)
After a flight with a spectacular view over the snowy Andes, we will arrive in Cusco, the former capital of the Inca Empire and one of the most important cities of Perù.
During the day we will visit Awanacancha, a traditional textile center, the market of the picturesque village of Pisac and the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, an Inca fortress.
Day 5, Sacred Valley (D,A)
Visit in the morning to Moray, an architectural set of concentric terraces used by the Incas as a center of agricultural research. After that, we will continue towards the Salinas de Maras, white and bright wells, from an underground stream and exposed to the sun until it evaporates.
Day 6, Machu Picchu (D)
The excursion to Machu Picchu starts in the early morning with the train “The Voyager”, by Inca Rail. This impressive and colossal citadel was hidden for 400 years, between the mountains and the tropical jungle, to be discovered in 1911 by the American explorer Hiram Bingham.
Day 7, Cusco (D)
We will take a deep visit into this ancient pearl of the Inca empire: the Cathedral, the Plaza de Armas and the Koricacha (Temple of the Sun), as well as Kenko, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman fortress.
Day 8, Cusco (D)
Street and portraiture photography in the city.
